简介:Anode-freerechargeablelithium(Li)batteries(AFLBs)arephenomenalenergystoragesystemsduetotheirsignificantlyincreasedenergydensityandreducedcostrelativetoLi-ionbatteries,aswellaseaseofassemblybecauseoftheabsenceofanactive(reactive)anodematerial.However,significantchallenges,includingLidendritegrowthandlowcyclingCoulombicefficiency(CE),havepreventedtheirpracticalimplementation.Here,ananode-freerechargeablelithiumbatterybasedonaCu||LiFePO4cellstructurewithanextremelyhighCE(>99.8%)isreportedforthefirsttime.Thisresultsfromtheutilizationofbothanexceptionallystableelectrolyteandoptimizedcharge/dischargeprotocols,whichminimizethecorrosionoftheinsitulyformedLimetalanode.
