简介:Nitrogen-dopedcarbonsaresuggestedaselectrochemicallyactivematerialsforV(IV)/V(V)redoxcouplesforavanadiumredoxflowbattery(VRB).Thesematerialsweresynthesizedusingahydrothermalreactionofaqueousglucosesolutioninthepresenceofethylenediamineasanitrogensource.Thephysicalandelectrochemicalpropertiesofthenitrogen-dopedcarbonsarecharacterizedbycyclicvoltammetry,high-resolutiontransmissionelectronmicroscopyandX-rayphotoelectronspectrometry.Theseresultsrevealthatthehydrothermalmethodisaneffectivewaytosynthesizehigh-contentnitrogen-dopedcarbons.Nitrogendopingsignificantlyimprovescatalyticactivityandreversibility.Therefore,useofnitrogen-dopedcarbonisexpectedtoincreasetheenergystorageefficiencyofVRBs.
