简介:Inoff-gridwindpowerplants,theuncertaintyofnetloadbecomesthemainfactorthatcontrolstheoperationandplanningoftheseplants.Thetermnetloadreferstosystemdemandminusthegenerationfromvariablerenewableresources.Energystoragesystemisakeysolutionforsystemoperatorstoprovidetherequiredflexibilityneededtobalancethenetloaduncertainty.Thisstudyproposesaprobabilisticapproachforsizingabatterystoragesystem(BSS)withtheaimofmitigatingthenetloaduncertaintyassociatedwiththeoff-gridwindpowerplant.Anovelbattery-sizingindexthattakesintoaccounttheprobabilisticnatureofthewindresourcesandtheelectricloadisdeveloped.TheproposedsizingapproachaimstoquantifytherequiredBSScapacityforoperatingthewindplantwithoutincurringexcessivebatteryinstallationcostaswellasforreducingthemismatchbetweenthewindgenerationandtheelectricload.An8.5MWutility-scalewindfarmisusedasatestsystemtodemonstratetheeffectivenessoftheproposedapproach.
